Overview

Our global team is looking for a long term relationship with a US based WordPress developer.  We can guarantee 20 hours a week and typically have 20-40 hour per week.  If you need full time let us know. The team member needs to reside in the USA. We work on Eastern Time Zone with morning team meetings and flexible work hours. We are a remote team company.

We can accept, full time or part time applications.  Just note your preference in the comments.

 

Primary Skill Requirements

Minimum Requirement: 3 years experience building WordPress themes. Please submit your github profile and/or personal website on the application form

Development skills and tools used:

html/css, Bootstrap framework, javascript, jQuery, PHP, MySQL, WordPress custom theme development, ability to build custom themes without the use of visual page builders, basic WordPress plugin development for custom plugins,

Security skills and tools:

Adopting WordPress best security practices, setting up Wordfence and protecting user forms

Systems/Server skills and tools:

Understanding of Linux servers, CPanel, maintaining monthly backups and uploading to Amazon s3, running virus scanner on CPanel to identify malicious code, setup of clients hosting for website deployment

Processes used for website development and push:

Understanding how to use Git and working locally using a local LAMP development environment like WAMP, MAMP, XAMP etc., setup of local and development environments

Optimization/Website Speed:

Basic understanding of optimizing w3Total cache and setting up a CDN on AWS cloudfront through w3Total Cache. Optimizing images, removing unnecessary plugins to increase overall page load times. We test with GTMetrix and Google lightspeed.

Hacks/Backups/Cleanup:

Understanding of WordPress core file structure and how to fix malicious code injections as needed, Setup of Backups, manual backups to S3, restoring a backup files and databases

Secondary Skill Requirements

SEO:

Basic understanding of Onsite-SEO best practices

Analytics Setup:

Setup GA4 on new websites using Google tag manager

Nice to have skills

Graphic design skills and tools:

Understanding of color theory, approximation, space and flow for landing pages built on WordPress and offsite using tools like Unbounce, Clickfunnels, etc.

Design skills and tools used:

Adobe photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe XD (only for client feedback)
