BrightFire is looking for an experienced full-stack, web developer to join our passionate and highly skilled team. Our primary product and services rely on a highly customized WordPress multisite installation. While experience in PHP and WordPress is ideal, it’s not required. However, you must have a strong understanding of OOP design patterns that can be applied to this environment. We’re not afraid to step outside of the WordPress ecosystem in order to deliver the best possible solutions for our clients and your strong skills in other languages and frameworks are highly regarded.

This job is for a full-time position. We have a casual work environment with loads of benefits and can accommodate the need for a flexible work schedule.


  • 3 years minimum development experience in object-oriented programming
  • Highly skilled in HTML5, JavaScript/ES6, jQuery, Ajax, and CSS
  • Experience with related preprocessors and transpilers such as SASS and Babel
  • Good working experience in relational databases including the use of efficient SQL commands
  • Experience transferring data through endpoints using APIs/RESTful APIs
  • Team player and able to constructively review and test co-workers’ code prior to deployment
  • Experience using Git
  • Familiar with OOP design patterns
  • Proficient with *nix shell / terminal scripting
  • Experience in React


  • Familiarity with other programming languages, e.g., Ruby, Java, Python, etc.
  • Familiarity with MVC software pattern and frameworks, e.g., Laravel, Rails, etc.
  • Familiarity with Javascript frameworks/libraries, e.g., React, AngularJS, Ember.js, etc.
  • Experience with Node.js and/or Webpack.
  • Experience with technical architecture and modular component design.
  • Familiarity with agile workflows and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with the Elementor site builder plugin and its development toolset.
  • Experience in writing quality Unit Testing, Integration testing, etc.
